SONGER is a highly-accredited family of low-contrast, monoline fonts with straight terminal endings. The strokes are static, featuring a small aperture and expanded intra-letter gaps, while secondary elements such as punctuation and diacritics are underlined.
Despite being simple in form, the outlines contain subtle optical compensation which ensures readability and an even graphic density in the text. Compressed styles are designed to retain oval elements without making them too square, making SONGER Condensed appear compressed in comparison to SONGER SemiExpanded. Both subfamilies feature the same stroke thickness, allowing for characters to be mixed and matched in the same text (just be sure to switch the kerning to optical).
The headset has a universal mood. Its low contrast strokes, oval shapes, and lack of “traps” make for confident characters in large pins, making it suitable for logos, large headlines, and even text.
