Wolgadeutsche: A Gothic Font Inspired by German History

Wolgadeutsche is a font designed for the local history museum in Marks, Saratov region, dedicated to the Volga Germans. Inspired by the Gothic fonts prevalent in 18th-20th century German colony documents, the font blends historical aesthetics with modern readability. Each glyph was meticulously hand-drawn and digitized, resulting in a predominantly ductal character. Wolgadeutsche successfully captures the decorative essence of Gothic typography while maintaining clarity and legibility.

Wolgadeutsche font (basic Latin, Cyrillic, also added glyphs characteristic of the German language), distributed completely free of charge for personal and commercial use.
