Suburbana: An Experimental Hand Lettered Font

Suburbana is an experimental hand lettered font inspired by the work of lettering painters responsible for creating some of the most diverse signs in metropolitan areas. This font was created as a result of a photographic survey conducted in commercial establishments in the Subúrbio Ferroviário of Salvador, Brazil. The area is known for its high foot traffic, which is why it was aptly named Suburbana after Afrânio Peixoto Avenue. This font pays homage to the lettering painters who have had a significant impact on the culture and style of urban areas.

 

Suburbana é uma tipografia brasileira, criada pelo designer gráfico Fernando PJ no ano de 2003, inspirado no trabalhos dos pintores de letras populares na cidade de Salvador (Bahia, Brasil). O uso é 100% gratuito, é apenas solicitado que coloque os créditos.
