Ghost Town is a unique font that was created as part of a research project focused on collecting, preserving, and studying the visual storytelling of poetry book covers in Cyprus. The inspiration for the font came from the lettering on the cover of a 1966 Cypriot book written by Theodosis Pierides and designed by Dimos Skoulakis. The font takes its name from the abandoned region of Varosha in Famagusta, Cyprus, which has been uninhabited and off-limits since the Turkish invasion in 1974. The project was funded by the Semiotics and Visual Communication Lab at the Cyprus University of Technology. Ghost Town is a titling font with strong character and comes in two styles: Ghost Town Thin and Ghost Town Thin Oblique.
