Cyklop: A Timeless Sans Serif Typeface

Cyklop is a unique sans serif typeface with a highly modulated stroke, giving it a high typographic contrast. The vertical stems are much heavier than the horizontal ones and the characters have thin rectangles as additional counters, creating a distinct shape. Designed in the 1920s by the Warsaw type foundry "Odlewnia Czcionek J. Idzkowski i S-ka", Cyklop was used extensively in newspapers, magazines, and during the occupation in the underground press. However, with the advent of offset print and computer typesetting, it is now difficult to find the original metal types of this typeface. Despite its age, Cyklop remains a timeless classic and still continues to be used in modern typography.
