Bantayog is a distinctive, all-caps, sans-serif typeface inspired by the characters repainted on the faded, cast iron text of Philippine historical markers. These markers pay tribute to significant events in the past and recall the stories of national heroes and their heroic deeds. The name 'Bantayog' itself is derived from the Filipino word for 'monument,' which are built to remind us of the courage and selflessness of our predecessors and to spark a sense of patriotism in all of us.

Bantayog is a rough, display typeface based on the characters repainted over the worn-out, cast iron text about significant events in the past and the lives of prominent national figures narrated on Philippine historical markers.
